The 3rd International Conference “Cloud Services Russia 2016 – Infrastructure. Platforms. Services” was held on 8 June in Moscow and proved to be a success.
The conference was attended by more than 200 carriers, equipment manufacturers, leading developers, system integrators, government authorities, experts and CIOs of companies working in different market segments. The conference venue was Moscow Marriott Hotel Novy Arbat, and the guests discussed the most burning issues related to the business environment, the development and application of cloud technologies and services.
The conference was endorsed by the non-commercial RUSSOFT Association, the Association of Internet Developers, the Russian Agency of the Information Society Development "RARIO", the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC), the Association of European Businesses (AEB), IT-leader platform "iTyumen", Novosibirsk CIO Club, RISSPA (Russian Information Systems Security Professional Association), CIO Club “YaITy”.
The platinum sponsor of Cloud Services Russia 2016 was Huawei. The silver sponsors became Rostelecom and Ericsson. MONT acted as a session sponsor. The conference was held with the participation of FLEXBBY, Rosplatforma and ICL Services.
Andrey Meluzov, Director of IT-Outsourcing Department, KORUS Consulting, told the audience about cloud market growth drivers in the new economic and political conditions. Eduard Gorbunov, Lead of cloud computing and vdc, Corporate and Government Sales Department, MRB Center Rostelecom, made a presentation “XaaS: delegating responsibilities to multi service provider”. Andrey Grishin, Senior Consultant, Ericsson Cloud Solutions, spoke about the IT infrastructure transformation which is the first step of cloud transformation and modernization. The speech “Distributed cloud data centers – new direction in creating cloud platforms” was delivered by Dmitry Milov, Testing and IT Infrastructure Development Department Director, MTS. Russian virtualization and three aspects of sanction proof software were characterized by Sergey Chlek, Sales Director Russia & CIS, Rosplatform.
The session dedicated to the transformation of service provider’s role due to cloud computing was marked by the presentations and speeches from such companies as Huawei, COMCOR (Akado-Telecom trademark), Moscow City Telephone Network (MGTS), MONT, MegaFon, Skolkovo Foundation and Flexbby. The speakers gave a detailed description of different approaches to cloud transformation and explained the problems getting in the way.
The speakers taking the floor during the session “How the changes in services and infrastructure transform corporate client’s opinion about cloud services” were from ALVISA Management, ICL Services, Alfa-Bank, Cisco, Project Management Center of the Cheboksary Electrical Equipment Plant, STA Kargo, Sanofi and IMT (CloudDC). After the session, several companies including Hoff, Microsoft, IBM, Нuawei, Ericsson and Oracle took part in an expert discussion.
More than 30 speeches and presentations were made at Cloud Services Russia 2016. The guests of the conference highly praised the quality of content provided during the conference, as well as the way the event itself was organized.
The conference ended with a grand awards ceremony for the winners of the 8th Annual contest “10 Best IT Projects for Public Sector”, joined by all participants of Cloud Services Russia 2016.
